Hearing from the Bold Team

From Dad:

It was hard to put all I wanted to say in just 2 sentences, you know how talkitive I am. I thank God every day for the supernatural way He cared for us on our trip. From getting all our trunks both going and coming ,for opening doors in Bam,Sik, and both villages giving us an opportunity to share and just love your people. He gave us a fresh word each day in our devotions which He used to encourage and build our faith. I'm really glad I got to spend time with you and to get to meet your people.

From Brama my pastor:

What a blessing it was to be back on the red African soil. Though I have only been to Africa a few times, I was really hoping for something fresh from God. From the beginning, this team was asking God for boldness. I rejoice in the Lord for how He enabled us to share His story so many times on this trip. Of course I cannot measure this but I feel like this team shared God's Word more times than all my other trips in the past combined. It was so awesome to be a part of a team that was able to share God's Word so much. I cannot say that everyone was receptive to hearing but the majority of the times the people would sit and listen to both our salvation testimonies as well as a story from God's Word. What a blessing of be a part of a team that sowed so many seeds. Continue to lift up the work that continues even though part of the team has returned to the states.

Do you want to come and experience how Big God is? Do you want to be apart of what God is doing herer?
Jesus, while walking on this earth was surrounded by people and when He saw them he had compassion on them. After that He turned to His disciples and said; "the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out workers into His harvest fields." He did say pray for healing, peace, protection, food etc...he told them to pray for more to come and share His Word and love to people that were lost. Do you want to be one of the few worker? I know not all feel lead to come but will you pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers?

Sharing

In Kar, the second village God met us there as well. It was nice to have a steam that the team could stop at to pray and thank God for all He did for us in Shen and prepare our hearts for Kar. When we got to Kar we greet and Dad was honored by being giving a chicken. The team got to eat that together with our hands out of a community bowl. It was fun and messy. Later we did a lot of male bonding, sharing testimonies and stories.

In several places we spoke boldly about the Jesus road and knew that it was up to them to make the choose now to follow or not. We were also able to pray for many who were sick and even take one baby to the nearest clinic to get medical help.

Chi sat with us one night and said, "Many have told me that in 2000 Jesus was coming back, but He didn't and many said they know when He is coming. Do you know when Jesus is coming back?" I love God working in people's hearts. Stirring up things in their hearts and minds. It was fun to actually show him in God's Word that no one knows NOT EVEN His own Son. The next day we got to share more with him and sit for longer. We talked about sine we don't know we need to be prepared. It has been awhile since he has been open so it was very encouraging to me.

Continue to pray for Kar and their hearts to be open. Pray for Jak and I as we live out God's love to them.  Many have said they want to follow but do not want to be the only ones. They has said if there was a group they would follow. Pray with me for a group or a family to becoming followers of the Jesus road.

Getting ready to go share
The first village was called Shen and it was the first time a team had stay in this village. I had made many trips to Shen but never spent the night myself. It was new ground breaking for us all. God was amazing and opened many door for us to share. Our first stop was the chief. We greeted him and prayed with and for him. After that we were off to see what other doors God was going to open for us. We were able to talk to  many and share our testimonies and stories for God's Word. Even the place where we stayed had people coming and sitting with us and asking questions and listening to more stories. Pray for the many that heard in the 2 days we were in Shen.

Bold Team Kitchen

Well it has been forever since I have updated my blog. Forgive me. Since I last wrote my Dad came to visit on team that went to 2 villages and we had a blast. Not only was it great to see my Dad but it was amazing to serve together in place where God has called me. The team started by working in my kitchen and now I have a new wooden trim, new cocking, painted cabinets and new pulls on all the doors. They worked hard and I feel the love every time I walk into my kitchen.

College Team: Off to P Land

A little truck trouble but fixable
After re-supplying in Bamako, we began the two day journey to P land where Waraba lead in a Storying Conference.

Stopping for lunch

Arrived and greetings
We picked up over 22 followers from three different villages for the conference. Although Waraba lead, each student told a story and Jak shared his testimony. It was a great time of fellowship, worship and growing.

After the conference, the team spent two more days greeting, praying, and sharing stories with seekers and followers in Village “S”. We also witnessed land being given to the followers of Village “S”. There are many different hopes are for the use of this land including building a place to meet both spiritual and physical needs of the P people. As we left, we traveled through another village to view how God is in the process of providing a radio station for broadcasting His Word. We prayer walked through each unfinished room and asked God to protect and utilize this facility for His glory. Pray for all the young followers scattered throughout this area. Pray for the followers and seekers in Village “S”. Pray for the land that was given and wisdom in how to use it. Pray for the radio station.

What we looked like when
 trip was over
As we ended our month long journey together we realized it was really just the beginning. Kadia left knowing more of the culture, village life and that it is doable. She is now back in the States making arrangements to return for a year beginning Jan 2011. Sali left with a definite call to medical missions and a new found love for West Africa. Abbi left with a passion to reach the Samogho and get her church involved with the Samogho as well. She also sees missions in her personal future. Yaya left having experienced God in a real and personal way. Waraba grew personally and is still trusting God for guidance in her next steps. Pray for each of these young people as they continue to live out what God revealed about Himself and their futures serving Him.

College team village/hospital visit

Village house orienation
The next thing on the travel agenda was a trip to my village and the Samogho people.
Once again it was our intention to encourage Jak, but he ended up encouraging us. We enjoyed our time telling Bible stories, sharing our testimonies and just doing life with him. Also in the village we were able to pray for people with illnesses, take care of burn injuries and tell Bible stories. Pray for my village and the work there. Pray for Jak to continue to hold tightly to God. Pray for the little one whose hand was very badly burned.

Carrying water from the pump
From my village we traveled to Village Shen to encourage the chief. Remember the God Size Team visited him and gave him the Mega Voice machine containing Bible stories. We found him still listening to the Mega Voice. He was even able to tell us a story. He was excited about God's Word and told us he desired his whole village to listen to these stories. We shared a story with him and two other men.

Telling Bible stories
The chief further surprised and delighted us by serving lunch for us before we left. Pray for Village Shen, the chief and these two men.

Telling Bible stories to the kids

Learning about that hospital

Visit to the hospital

We then took a day trip to Koutiala to visit the women and children's hospital. We saw how God provided equipment, supplies and new facilities for patients and staff. God spoke to our college team by showing Kadia how He could use her medical background. He also made it clear to Sali medical missions were in her future. Pray for both of these young women as they seek God's next step toward their future in missions.

College team getting started

We began our journey in capital city taking care of children while their parents attended a retreat my mission was conducting. This gave both the children and parents freedom to worship and grow in their own way. After that we stay a few more days for team orienation and to practice language.
